History:
This vehicle was purchased in June 2006, having covered 9985 miles from new
and is believed to be one of the lowest mileage 96 in the country!
Currently, she has just over 11,000 (eleven thousand) miles on the clock.
Gracie was bought new, by a disabled couple who gave up driving about 2 years after purchase. The couple then stored the vehicle in a wooden garage, with a view to commencing driving, one day, where it stood for around 25 years or more, until 2000, when the vehicle was discovered.
Description:
The mechanicals completely striped down, and rebuilt with mostly new parts, including:
· Brake Master cylinder, servo, clutch master, clutch slave.
· New hoses all round, and callipers rebuilt with new seals.
· New 4.5 inch wheels with new Michelin 175/65/15.
· American specification front grille, and headlights.
· New Jetex exhaust system.
The engine was completely stripped, chemically cleaned, and rebuilt, and is one of the sweetest V4's I have heard.
Gracie’s interior is unmarked.
The front panel and boot were painted by a Saab-approved body shop due to surface rust, but the rest of the paint is original.
The underneath has to be seen to be believed.
I acted as chauffeur to a friend, whose daughter's long held wish, was to be driven to her own wedding, last October in an old Saab. I was only too pleased to oblige.
